Shivanasamudra Falls

Shivanasamudra is a small city in Karnataka, situated on the banks of the river Kaveri.

How To Reach?

This place is around 130 KM from Bangalore and there will be bases plying from Bengaluru Satellite Bus Station to Kollegal starting at 07.00 in morning. You need to get down at Kaveri Auto Stand and hire an auto to get to destination.

If you are train traveler, nearest railway station is Maddur, which is 52 KM from the Falls.

Due to its remote location, its best to travel with private vehicles. The roadways are very good and views along the way are eye-catching.

Plan your journey in a way that you reach by 08.00 AM, as there will be no crowd at this time of the day.

What to see?

Barachukki Falls

You can have mind boggling views of  Barachukki Falls from the Barachukki Falls View Point. The view-point is fenced and guarded by police. This is best place to start your Shivanasamudra experience.

Shivanasamudra Falls 

Also called Gaganachukki Falls. Go to Gaganachukki Falls Second View Point, Barachukki Falls Rd,  this is not as impressive as the Barachukki Falls although you will not be disappointed. 

Cavery River

You can sneak into the Cavery river from the same view point spend quality time on rocks and enjoy numerous mini-falls. 

Later, have your food and stop by the Boating Point on return journey.

Boating Point

To make your evening awesome, you can make a halt at the Wellesley Bridge [Broken Bridge] or opt for boat tour (if available then). Avoid Wellesley bridge if River is thudding as the bridge is marked dangerous.

Food

There will be street-side food available at all the view-points. However if you are looking for a proper lunch, you would want to try food at Mayura restaurant. The food is tasty and in-expensive.
